I’m really sorry to learn it is, in fact, Myeloma. As you mentioned, outcomes for this cancer can prove better than other forms and with the positive attitude you have and a good team I’m betting you’ll get past it. As everyone has said we are all here for you and ready to listen and help however we can. I know how scary it can be initially. I was diagnosed with MGUS several years ago and get monitored every 6 months to keep watch in case I develop it. And yes, one day at a time - you’ll get through this.

I don't like the Subject line you choose so I changed it.

I hope this is not the "Final" update, but the Latest one in a long series of up and downs, but overall mostly up and that you will be around for many more years.

Good luck my friend and please keep us up to date. Lots of positive energy beaming your way.

Three friends have multiple myeloma.

One only takes the pills.

One had a single stem cell transplant.

One had two stem cell transplants. (His sub-type is one of the more aggressive.)
You will learn tons about blood if you are in this category.
His second transplant was donor cells, and has some host vs graft issues that need to be monitored.

But the good news is, all are doing well and living their lives as if it never happened. (The third friend does have more monitoring.)
Their diagnoses were 21 years ago, 15 years ago and 11 or 12 years ago.

All are white males diagnosed in their 50's, 30's and 50's, respectively.

I can't imagine how scary it is to get the diagnosis, but wanted to share experiences from my circle of friends.
Keep a positive attitude and know that your forum friends are pulling for you.
