As I have posted here, I am a full member of the 'I like wires' club. All of my keyboards are plugged in, and I prefer ethernet over wifi whenever possible.

But for mice - I think 'hamsters' are really better for normal use. But not all 'hamsters' are the same.

First, Logitech's non-BT mice are fast and last >1 year on a standard alkaline battery. They are my preferred go-to 'mice'. I even prefer some of the smaller models, actually. Pick your color and shape, they really are truly great wireless 'mice'.

Second, there is only a single class of BT mice I can recommend for Macs - the Logitech Mac Anywhere 3:

I have 4 of them. They charge via USBC, take about 5 min to recharge for over a month. They last months on a full charge.

They have 3 buttons on the bottom to even easily use for more than one Mac.

Just offering options to a fellow 'I like wires' club member.

Requirements:
- Wired USB (I abhor having another object that requires batteries)
- Two buttons
- Optical (don't think that needs to be said, but throwing it in, just in case)

Let me list some $600 mice I know you'll love...

rg gave me a suggestion for this Logitech B100 mouse that met the those requirements, which are the same as mine.

Her recommendations was seconded, thirded, and fourthed, but I'd already ordered two.

They fit the bill perfectly..

I'm not a mouse guy, preferring trackballs and Magic Trackpad, in that order.

But I have occasional need of a wired mouse and this should serve well.

I've seen some cool looking mice with more buttons and features, but these usually need software to get additional functions.

I wanted a basic wired mouse and the B100 is that mouse.

I loved my old Logitech MX518 and was sad when it died after like 10 years of faithful service. I got a replacement, only to learn that it didn't play nice with newer versions of MacOS. So it's connected to my son's old Mac Mini that I use occasionally. I hated wireless mice too, but have been using a Logitech M510 on my Studio. I've only had to replace the batteries once in like 2 years. But again, it doesn't play nice with newer MacOS. I had to pay for a Japanese guy's program (SteerMouse) that lets me program the buttons on it.

Make me an outrageously insanely high offer for one of our 2 NIB's MX518's, or I'll leave you one in my will, if it's still in my estate when I expire.
I keep one, that's been in use for quite awhile, in my "laptop-to-go" bag for road warrioring, and also when demo-ing guest Macs around here.
Great choice for a wired mouse!

FYI, the semi-recent reissue MX518 has better resolution than the original, as well as on board profiles in its memory, so you can program
you desired configuration(s) on a older, compatible machine, then take it with you to newer Mac's/OS's in all of its wonderful mouse glory.

Cool

I don't know about the MX518, but I used an MX310 in the past.
