It makes a difference.


I should have considered it more.

My bottled water bottles were compressing and I thought it was air escaping from the water.

You explained that it was water escaping.

Fortunately the occupancy of food in my freezer is fairly short.

The tip of plastic wrap over the top of a container before putting the lid on, is something I'll do.

It's not as thick as a freezer bag, but should add some viability to stored food in the freezer.

Freezer burn is caused by air being in contact with the food. eliminate that contact and you eliminate (or greatly slow down) freezer burn.

The trick of covering the top surface with plastic also keeps films from forming on the top of sauces in the refrigerator.
