Re: Followup: Pressure washer for weed removal... - Paul F. - 04-17-2007 Harbor Freight also had an 1800 psi model... but it was $30 more... This one is a small 110V unit. I can see it being useful, as long as I am careful what I use it on... I'd rather not accidently strip paint off something I wanted the paint ON! ![]() Oh, and since I've seen video of abrasive water jets cutting 2" thick STEEL plate...I have respect for high pressure water. Time will tell if it's ENOUGH respect, of course. Re: Followup: Pressure washer for weed removal... - Racer X - 04-17-2007 Oh yeah, water jet cutting of plate stock, and other intricate parts. Re: Followup: Pressure washer for weed removal... - haikuman - 04-17-2007 Prudent use of nozzel configuration, and the dial controlling max pressure can be yor friends.... ![]() Re: Followup: Pressure washer for weed removal... - olnacl - 04-17-2007 Back in the '70s, before pressure washers were mainstream, I worked for a company that sold them. I was at a factory demo-ing the unit to clean some valves internally that normally took a person hours to clean by hand. Slick as a whistle in a couple minutes. The exec I was showing it to was so impressed he immediately thought of other cleaning he could do with it and sprayed in on the brick wall of the building. Now he needed a tuckpoint job. Then, not being the quickest study, he happened to have a railroad engine sitting by handily, and sprayed the front of the engine. Went right down to bare steel. Finally the "oops" gene took hold. I'm glad it was he who was holding the wand and not me. I think the output was somewhere over 3500 PSI using a 15HP Briggs engine to power it. |
