More importantly they were fighting for their/our survival and with a united effort we can possibly bring about our own survival now in the face of another monumental adversary (pollution, warming, etc.), that being the (albeit loose) connection being made.

Are we using words with too many syllables or something? Did mint actually read the article or just guess at it? Charles was comparing the effort needed to rise to a huge challenge not what the challenge itself was. Seemed plain enough to me and to others who have posted here and that doesn't mean to say that they all agree with Charles either.

I do not need to study his articles where he tries to get off the hook. He is a moron. The very headline concept is sickening. People sacrificing at the Battle of the Bulge being compared to Carbon Dioxide? Heresy and disgrace. Bring it on, There is no justification for this nonsense.

Seems simple to me, a parable. The struggle to save the environment akin to the struggle to save Europe from Nazi Germany.
Granted he's a bit of a loon but how you get People sacrificing at the Battle of the Bulge being compared to Carbon Dioxide from "We can do it, just think what they did in the last war. Things that seemed impossible were achieved almost overnight," is beyond me.

One aspect of this parable I don't like, either.
There is no wholesale slaughter nor massive life sacrifices to stemming climate change.
That this will involve the whole world can not be argued.
Comparison to WWII is a rather poor choice of analogies. Though not totally without some merit.
