Re: Photos from India - Grateful11 - 07-08-2007 [quote ztirffritz][quote Grateful11]What is 52-54 of 500, some sort of temple or what? I like it. Was the chess set for sale or owned by someone? 52-54 are a temple in Chennai. The temple has over 10k statues on it. Very impressive. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kapaleeshwarar_temple http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gopuram Really Cool! Re: Photos from India - dmann - 07-08-2007 Those were great! I especially liked the ones of the wedding and the henna tattoos- congrats to your SIL and thanks for sharing. DM Re: Photos from India - Mactel - 07-08-2007 I bet the food was great. I love indian food myself. Re: Photos from India - RAMd®d - 07-09-2007 Where are all the pics of the men dressed in sweaters and polyester slacks? I was watching a friend's wedding video (she went home for the wedding) and there were a little over 400 people there. ALL the women were in traditional clothing, and the ALL the men were in Western sweaters and slacks. Cracked me up. She told her mom and dad she wanted to get married soon since at 24, she was almost too old to get a guy. She's a babe. I told her that here, she'd have until 40ish, at least. Re: Photos from India - chas_m - 07-09-2007 Beautiful, breathtaking photos. Thanks for sharing. PS. Thomas Friedman is a rich idiot who is completely out of touch with reality. Which is not to say his book might not be entertaining, but bear in mind his worldview doesn't really exist outside the cocktail party circuit of NYC/DC. |
