Wait --- I'm confused --- you all are changing the DNS addresses in the router? I've always had DNS addresses inputted in the Mac's Network pane! Doh! Finally, it makes sense.
This laptop from work, I just checked, has nothing inputted for DNS addresses and has never had latency. My G5 is about to get an adjustment!

You're welcome. Glad it helped someone else. I hadn't a clue about this either. I'll admit, I'm still in shock at the speed of things now. I honestly thought that everyone always experienced some kind of delay when surfing. Not anymore! My ftp is still slow sometimes, but that could be an issue with Dreamhost, and not DNS or anything else.

It takes 2 minutes. Change DNS on your:
Computer - Get instructions for Windows, Mac, mobile phones, and more.
OR
Router - Enable OpenDNS on your router so every computer benefits.

Thanks...I think. I'm not sure it's making a difference. Then again, I'm not sure it "took" as the thing stuck at the reboot page forever, to the point where I hit "stop" and backed out.
Now however, I think it must have worked because DAMN IT, when I type something like Amazon in my address bar, it sends me to
http ://guide.opendns.com/?url=amazon and not directly to Amazon.
Any way to fix that? I don't want another guide when I know where I want to go.

I had the same issue...once you go to Amazon, it should straighten out (it did for me)
