Jimmy, I like your idea about removing Office, but I must use it, and of the programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Entourage), I really like Entourage. And, MUST use Word for total compatibility in university work.
I downloaded NeoOffice, ThinkFree, etc., but for me, just ONE incompatibility issue is enough to cause me great grief (not good grief, but GREAT
). None of my present Macs are new enough (Pismo, etc.) to run iWork. I've also tried Mariner Write, Calc, Nisus Writer, but until I find a word processor that is absoultely 100% Word compatible (APA formatting intact, graphics intact, etc.), I simply must continue to use Word.

When I ran NeoOffice, it was painfully slow. MS Office is much faster on my 1.25 GHz Mini.
