[quote Black Landlord]Sorry, mint-- been through the whole list again, and I don't seen an obvious choice.
One of the "extension" thngies is my best guess. Hope someone smarter than me takes a shot.
At the risk of insulting you, I did some searching and found someone who fixed your problem with a full shutdown-- I imagine you do thise frequently?

Could also be your OS version-- which is it?
Oops, I see in the OP, 10.2.8.

As I said, could also be your OS version . . . PM me if you want to go to 10.3.9.

Extensibility has its price.

I'll forego it for Safari's superior interface, stability, and speed.

I suggest that you consider upgrading to OS X 10.3.9.

It runs beautifully on a G3. Plenty fast and a bit more compatible with modern apps. (Not that FF2 is all that modern... but it still came about 3 years after your OS.)

I do not see the improvement in system as neccessarily the answer. It used to work on 10.2.8 and then one day just up and quit working. Quite an endeavor for getting back a browser feature that is not guranteed to come back. I am maxed out on my hd and want to keep computer as is in anticipation of new one with upgraded system.

I was going to suggest creating a new user account and trying to run Firefox there - to see if it fixed the problem. However if your HD is maxed out maybe that wouldn't be easy.

Omigod!i After fooling around with upgrading again it is working! It's alive. Look for plagarism on my part.

Thanks for suggestions.

[quote Article Accelerator][quote deckeda]'mint: Since you mentioned copying text from a web browser, imagine if you were using a full-on (i.e. Cocoa) Macintosh browser such as Safari or Camino, that knew what OS X Services were all about.
So true.

In Safari, I even use drag-and-drop, both within Safari pages and from or to other applications. Very convenient.
Don't know what you guys are talking about. I cut, copy, paste & drag & drop in Firefox all the time.
