He doesn't seem to notice. But then again, the cat has stuck his face into the dog's food bowl while the dog was eating with no repercussions. So this may not work for everyone. :-)

Those plastic pet dishes with two compartments are such a bad idea that it's hard to believe they are still being sold. If you put in two types of dry food, it would be OK, but most people put wet and dry or water and food, annd what results is a mess that cats don't want to eat.
Some cats do better with metal or ceramic dishes.

When we adopted ours, two cats were cheaper together than separately. Can't recall the price break. And spayed/neutered is 1/2 the cost to license locally.
2 boys get along best, then a boy and a girl, and two girls least of all. Littermates get along better than strangers, so a pair of brothers are usually easy to live with.
BUT the allergen that people are allergic to is a protein in cat saliva, so it isn't actually cat dander that people are allergic to, it is the dried cat spit ON the dander. that is why a small scratch can really itch, as the claw may have been covered with dried cat spit. Unfortunately male cats have more of the protein in their saliva than females. So I am really allergic to cats, and of course we have 2 brothers......
