If you want to get technical, it's supposedly scaled anamorphic 480p. Even so, my tv pops up an info-window when I select a source and it's interpreting the component input from my Wii as a 720p signal. In addition to being widescreen, the image is vastly superior in quality to the composite display (which may simply be due to the component cables), so I think it's well worth the $15 bucks for the component adapter. ...Especially if you're playing Mario Kart. Agreed, I would also recommend the component cables for the Wii. Re: Calling all HDMI experts - JJ - 12-08-2008 Lux Interior wrote: Thanks Lux. Sort of a reversal for once in my case. Due to the devalued pound, I can get a "better" deal on a TV sold in the UK. My best option seems to be to take my PS3 and XBOX 360 to a retailer and ask if I can "try them out". I think they will both be fine since the TVs in the UK accept both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, like you said. JJ |
