A Nigerian friend of mine the other day mentioned that he was sorta glad Madoff is sorta taking some of the heat off of his people.
And I am sure I will be hearing soon from my Italian buddies who will likely be lobbying to have the 'Ponzi' scheme renamed.

So, Jews are white???
This is something I don't quite understand. Jewish seems to be both a religion and an ethnicity. And while I can certainly see how an ethnic Russian who is a religious Jew can be "white", how is an ethnic Jew "white" as well?
Am I mistaken in my understanding that Jews come from the Middle East? If not, then are the Jews the odd caucasian ethnic group in the Middle East? Or are they also ethnically Middle Eastern and differing from the Palestinians, Iraqis et al by virtue of language, customs and religion?
If that sounds confused it is because I am confused about this issue as well.

There are white, brown and black Jews, there is no way to read Greg's comment to mean he thinks all Jews are white. That's your mindset speaking, not his.

It most certainly is my mindset speaking. That's why I said it exactly the way I wrote it.
And this isn't the first time I've heard Jews refer to themselves as "white."
