Re: Are you bargaining with retailers? - jdc - 12-22-2008 common sense -- of course some small 1 store shop will haggle -- especially if they sell speciality items Re: Are you bargaining with retailers? - SDGuy - 12-22-2008 freeradical wrote: Which is why I sometimes look forward to places that expect haggling. "I'll give you $1 for that brand new car". If they ask for it, they'll get it. Since it's the game they want to play, I'll play it, and be an A** about it. As for regular retailers - if they have a price match policy, I've got no problem asking them to do that. I got them to take $20 off an open-box iBook once just for asking. Re: Are you bargaining with retailers? - jardster - 12-22-2008 Heck, I've never paid full price for even a bagel. The rest of you are suckers! Re: Are you bargaining with retailers? - thermarest - 12-22-2008 I tried to get Amazon to price match last week, which is kind of like haggling. I bought from them at $187. Then their price had dropped to $174 and a competitor had it for $160, all free shipping. They said no. They'd rather have me return it and order a new one, even from a competitor. Re: Are you bargaining with retailers? - ka jowct - 12-23-2008 I'm still stuck on denial. |
