It's so 19th century. As for his predecessor, that is the late Rev. Robert Drinan, SJ to be precise. A credit to an order that has prided itself on producing rational thinkers capable of fine use of logic and teaching others in that usage. As a formerly observant member of the church, members of that order were the ones I most often found and still find tolerable holding an intelligent conversation with.
