I used to think that paying for radio is silly as well. When I lived in an area that I could no longer receive local radio (the stations I wanted to hear) clearly and the stations that I DID get, sucked, we opted for Sirius in one of our cars. I was hooked. I paid for a lifetime subscription in that car and when we bought a new car last year, we did the same for XM in that car. No static, tons of variety and no commercials on most stations. I LOVE being able to listen to CNN when I drive around. Yes, it was not free, but as long as Sirius/XM will be around, I am a customer. Re: When did Howard Stern (radio personality not bombshell model enabler) become irrelevant - mrbigstuff - 04-16-2009 I guess if you live out in the sticks, satellite radio is a good option. But, as Doc says, I barely have time to listen to my stack of CDs (from house or library) and I don't even get around to many podcasts. I also live in one of the best radio markets in the country for variety so we are never lacking on the dial. Re: When did Howard Stern (radio personality not bombshell model enabler) become irrelevant - DaviDC. - 04-16-2009 I stopped hearing about him after he went to satellite radio. I never listen to any radio these days. Re: When did Howard Stern (radio personality not bombshell model enabler) become irrelevant - testcase - 04-16-2009 "When was he relevant?" "pay radio. i just can't process that." "He has N E V E R been relevant for me." My thoughts, exactly. Re: When did Howard Stern (radio personality not bombshell model enabler) become irrelevant - Seacrest - 04-16-2009 Funny how such "irrelevancy" gets so many views and responses. Re: When did Howard Stern (radio personality not bombshell model enabler) become irrelevant - Paul F. - 04-16-2009 You're confusing "popular" with "relevant". |
