I fully expect a ton of civil actions against the feeder funds for violation of their fiduciary responsibility.

My hopes were that the at least part network of money handlers with whom he dealt with were to be brought in as well, but you know that they have plausible denial on their side (as that is how the system is structured). Too bad, as I would think that more money would have been recovered for the folks who got ripped off.
I agree about the hard labor, but the way he looks, it would be a 1 week term that would evolve into in a death sentence.

I hope the folks at the SEC whom the whistle blower told about Madoff and ignored the info get an equal sentence.

I think the focker should be shot.
But why the hell did those investors (who lost everything) put all their eggs in one basket?
And why the hell was this crook waiting to be caught? Move to some third world country dumb ass.

In many ways it's hard to feel too sorry for the investors that begged to get into a "too good to be true" deal.
These folks were getting what - 15% or better every year with no down years ? Unheard of in the investment game.
The ones I do feel sorry for are the charitable trusts - universities, hospitals, non-profits
that got hosed because their investment counselors did not preform their jobs and probably
drew large salaries making bad decisions when they of all people should have had a gut feeling.
This one is probably the tip of the iceberg and there will be more to follow.
On that note I wish Bernie good health and a long long life ..... behind bars.
