I did the same thing last year while installing a *white storm door.

Self taping screw with a rounded head slipped and I ran the drill into the pad of my left index finger.

Cursing is indeed called for !

I ended up with a 3/8" diagonal scar dead center on my fingertip

You were holding the screw with your middle and index finger with the back of the hand against the work surface.

I know how THAT goes.

My uncles used to do it with tin snips, from what I've heard. And those were the two that were cops!

Try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser if you still have not gotten it clean.

I find that a blood spattered door and a barking dog discourages casual break ins
