How is typing on a Mini 10 vs a Mini 9? I'm thinking of trading up if it's alot better. I don't really like the mini 9 keyboard.

I worked on a Mini 9 for about an hour and I disliked the smaller keyboard. The Mini 10 is a little larger and IMHO easier to use when traveling (on a plane, train, etc.).
What the HUGE difference is storage space and cost. To get a usable amount of room on a Mini 9, you are talking $235 and have to wait for them to be in stock. 32GB leaves you with 20GB space after loading the basic system/apps, which for me, is not very much space left to add movies; a 64GB drive runs about $230 + shipping. I am buying some relatively fast drives (for the Mini 10v) for $73 each and getting 5X the space for 1/3 the cost, and they have them in stock at Amazon. The larger screen and the larger keyboard are bonuses.

I have a 4GB kit that I ordered for a friend's laptop but its not needed anymore. maybe i can work out a deal with a fellow forum member and we'll split the kit. ($10ish?? need to look into it - contact me if interested)
jd - what kind of speed increase do you see from the larger drive? i'm considering whether i should upgrade the drive as well. admittedly, this is an impulse buy and i'm not terribly sure what i'll use the machine for.

I have had very good luck (knock on wood) with 2GB Crucial RAM:

Before netbooks became popular, these were regularly $18 a piece, but still a good price considering. As far as speed increase, it is not night/day, like going from an G3 iMac to a C2Duo iMac, but things open and close faster and there is less lag.
For under $340 you can have a fairly capable Mini 10" Mac (assuming that you have a family pack of 10.5 or 10.6).
