Several years ago around here, someone stealing stuff from a car set off a canister of bear spray. The police report mentioned several puddles of vomit in and outside of the car. The string of car break-ins ceased.

Several years ago, in Glacier, a woman chased off a grizzly that was mauling her husband by attacking it with a pair of binoculars.
