Of course 9/11 and Iraq are connected.
W wanted to settle his father's vendetta, and Iraq was well-located to serve as a US base of operations for a decades-long holy war on Islam.
Plus, all that juicy oil just sitting there for imperialist plundering.
What about that doesn't make sense to you folks?

You forgot that another plus was that we'd have Iran surrounded by American forces and they would be intimidated into cowing to US demands and never able to form a close association with an elected Shi'ite dominated government in Iraq.
