Like an iMac, a mini would also smoke your G5 while only using a small fraction of the electricity.
If your machine is running 24/7, you would probably save $10/month on your electric bill.

This is another good point to consider. I only wake up the G5 when I need it, and sometimes leave it on in the depths on winter to help heat the house.
