One night after I turned the lights out I saw the red glow coming from the minijack and realized the optical out was stuck. The only fix is to manually poke around with a toothpick and untrigger the button. Before realizing this no audio on headphones or built in speaker. -Shawn Any trick to getting the right place poked in the headphone jack? My MacBook will either show Optical out or work with headphones. But it does not get back to using the internal speakers. I can poke around and get the internal speakers active for a short bit, but it goes back to the optical out and turns on the red light in the jack fairly quickly.
