Depending on the size of the PVC drain pipe, and how long it is, you might be able to use a garden hose to shove the clog out. Don't turn the water on, obviously, because you don't know where that drain pipe comes out, but you might be able to use the garden hose to push the clog out, since you don't have a snake.

yes, sometimes I think renting would be preferable. I would get my weekends back, too.

Bleach does amazing things if the clog is algae type. If you were to try a chemical, use LIQUID drain
openers, because they are sodium hypochlorite (bleach) - and the thickness of it might help clear the
entire thing.
When A/C's are at the same level as ME, personally, I pour bleach through the internal drip-pan about once
a month. But when it is up in the attic, I am less likely to try chemicals simply because they are so hard
to reach.
Last house, they were clogging near the outdoor exit point. I actually had success pouring a strong
dilution of Round-Up down the pipe, as well as spraying it thoroughly at the exit. The plant life was
dead in a few days, but then the bleach did its thing a few days later (removing the dead algae/lichen).
