Re: New Congress draws first blood; NPR folds - Grace62 - 01-08-2011 What does this have to do with the "new" Congress? And no matter what NPR decides about his firing, what Juan Williams said was small minded and bigoted and not a tiny bit hypocritical coming from an African American journalist who has called out businesses for being nervous about "black youths." He deserved to get called out for it. Re: New Congress draws first blood; NPR folds - Mac1337 - 01-08-2011 Dennis S wrote: PAY for it, slacker. I paid my $1.70 already. I'll pay another $1.70 or so by April 15. Pretty good deal. My Daddy taught me not to be a chump. It is gonna take a lot more than buck 70 to keep you entertained. What a cheapo! Calling you a slacker was very generous. That is why NPR should be defunded so likes of you have to make a decision. Is it gonna be NPR or a night out? Re: New Congress draws first blood; NPR folds - Mac1337 - 01-08-2011 Sure. Re: New Congress draws first blood; NPR folds - Grace62 - 01-08-2011 It's funny how Republican politicians are always tripping all over themselves to get an interview on NPR. They know a lot of people are listening; people who are active in politics and who care about what's going on. They won't defund NPR, nor CPB. They love it. Re: New Congress draws first blood; NPR folds - Dennis S - 01-08-2011 The Real Republicans will never let NPR go or pass an anti-abortion law nationwide. They need to keep the voters riled up so they can keep getting tax cuts and deregulation. Re: New Congress draws first blood; NPR folds - $tevie - 01-08-2011 Dennis S wrote: Yeah, I think they have certain issues that they like to drag around to keep tensions high. And I also agree that despite the opinion of the people who never listen to NPR, the Republicans get a lot of opportunities to speak in their own words (as opposed to being quoted) and they won't want to lose that. Re: New Congress draws first blood; NPR folds - SteveO - 01-10-2011 Oh yes. The R's and their pet issues get PLENTY of airtime on NPR. To the point of annoyance. I'm all for equal coverage, but NPR beat the drums of war as loudly as any right-wing media outlet leading up to W's idiotic Iraq invasion...and beyond. And it continues. Re: New Congress draws first blood; NPR folds - Jimmypoo - 01-12-2011 Dakota doesn't remember any of that - he was too busy crapping his pants over Mandela at the time. Right, Boer? |
