August... yep. One of the (many) benefits of an Engineering education and experience is that you tend to look at the practical details first.
One of the negatives (as Mrs. cbelt3 will happily explain) is that we're often completely incapable of talking without sketching something on a piece of paper. :biggrin:

While I'm certainly not of the opinion that this is in any way some sort of job creating law, I have no problem with the crack down on illegal migrant farming (both the workers and the farm owners are in the wrong, imo).
Regarding the two quotes above: well, the first one is complete bullshit. Maybe no one will legally work for pennies on the dollar... that's probably true. It certainly doesn't justify what practically equates to slave labor, either. Pay an honest wage for honest work instead of the pittance they fork over.
Which brings us to quote two. I say tough fucking shitski. If the price of produce goes up, so be it. Why should it be subsidized via use of illegal workers to artificially keep prices lower?!? I don't know how they continuously justify this? I wish auto manufactures or oil companies all used the equivalent percent of illegal workers to produce their goods, then! If it meant I could pay half as much for a gallon of gas or buy a new Corvette (I don't want a Vette, it's just an example) $35K, bring it on! Of course, I'm joking. Just pointing out that it baffles me that it's ok for one industry to get away with a cheap illegal workforce as a means to keep production costs low, but it's not ok for others.
As for the illegal workers, I hardly blame them. Doesn't make what they are doing right, though. Have been around them directly and indirectly for ~15 years and they are some of the most hard working individuals you'll ever come across. I know I couldn't do what many of them do but then again I'm soft and have delicate hands! As much as the whole thing tugs at the heart strings and as much as I like some of the families I've come to know, it doesn't make it right.

I also agree with vikm. I don't think you have to engineer anything (like a bus system, etc.). It'll just be a natural consequence. Painful at first, but good in the long run. kj.
