Quadra something at work (I don't recall). Performa 6400 at home. Looking for an upgrade, maybe an L2 cache or an ethernet card, is how I found dealmac as a matter of fact. I had a lot of fun upgrading that machine. I still have it and was using it for years and years and years since my scanner was (is) scsi, although since I no longer need to scan things at home I haven't booted it up in a long long time.

Hi everyone,

My family's first Apple was an Apple II+ purchased in 1978. We upgraded it with a 16K card and a Videx Enhancer and a modem. I believe it ended up with a total of 48K. We used a cassette deck with it for data and, eventually, disk drives. Two 5-1/4" drives to be exact. One for a system disk and one for an app disk. Or, one for a system/app disk and a data disk. And, an Epson dot matrix printer for it.

We used that Apple II+ for everything! Programming in Basic, word processing, games and even telecommunications. Bulletin Board Systems (aka BBS) ruled back then! Applewrite, Superscribe, DiskMuncher and Locksmith (for backing up original disks) and more games than I can list became family favorites. Wizardry from Sir Tech Software comes to mind. Smile

Then Apple released the original Mac.

We had one of the first. My mom had gone back to school and got it at educational pricing along with a batch of software. The old Epson printer was replaced by an original Imagewriter and we had an external 3.5" drive for it. The rest is history.

Robert

An Atari ST / Spectre GCR with Mac 128K ROMs inside. It ran Mac software faster then a Plus and did color long before the Mac II family.

My first one was a Performa 475. That machine was followed by a couple of powerbooks, a G3 minitower, and my current Macbook for home and Mac Pro here at the office.

Of course, to complete the "circle of life" I have a Mac SE sitting in the corner of my office. Still fires up and run fine!

Family's first Apple computer was a //e. My first computer was a ][gs. My first Mac was a PB5300cs.

There have been many since then. My brother still has the //e, I still have the ][gs, and I sold the 5300ce to a friend to fund a 5300ce, which I still have.

Same setup for me as well! Great machine. I think I still have it, as a matter of fact.

Apple IIgs, but we had a IIc in the house as well.

Mac Classic...
I remember being frustrated by how limited it was compared to its big brother, the SE30..
But I also remember having a LOT less problems with it than my Windows 3.1 using friend :-)

Personal = SE/30
At work = quite a variety before that.

I do have a 128k at home. Have worked on a wide variety of vintages with the volunteer work that I did for many years at a couple of schools.
