I bet those Eneloops are just fine, you may need a smart charger to refresh once in a while. They can take up to 1000 cycles, how many cycles do you think you have on those eneloops?

worst case you can buy a new set of eneloops for $10 (4 cell) if necessary and skip the alkalines
