ON the topic of not supplying your personal information.
And not getting those cards, that by just supplying your home phone number that you gave with the sign up, your bill at a grocery store drops from 35.00 to $18.50 , because you qualify for the sale price, is silly.
I remember standing behind people that are buying some of the same items, that are on sale, but they refuse to walk out with more cash in their pocket.

That's virtually meaningless. The hackers can defeat it "all." Bottom line is nobody needs to be helping a multi-zillion dollar corporation handle it's business. They're big boys.

I know what the virtues of Apple Pay are vs. any other kind of mobile payment system. It's a good concept and now a likely great reality. My goal is to derail the topic when it veers toward proposing that such a powerful organization is somehow being victimized and that there should be a grass roots remedy to alleviate that bit of mythology. That's all.

I'm actually excited to see how this new technology works out and which side wins the war - Apple and the credit card companies v. Walmart-led CurrentC retailers
Epic battle - Apple offers customers anonymity in purchases, which retailers don't like because they want to track you - but they're playing the credit card company's game
currentC wants to cut out the credit card middle man and his swipe fees but allow for consumer tracking
we'll see who wins
the data breaches (including what's stored on your phone and not just on company servers) are inevitable, no matter which system (if either) prevails with consumers
that's part of electronic life now
