Sometimes (when the damage that "totaled" it was body and fender stuff) it can be a great deal... Other times (when it went for a swim in salt water...) it's buying trouble. Lots and lots of trouble...forever. If the title says Salvage on it, require more info, and a carfax report... IMHO If the title says "salvage" I would have to jump through hoops to get it converted to some other status, no? They are cheap to fix if needed and get decent mileage for the size. The also are rated very well for crash tests. The 2010-2012 with the 2.5 4cyl get 35mpg on the hwy in summer. Winter mixed driving about 28-30mpg My youngest daughter is driving a 2010 with 172,000 miles. It has been a great car the last 2 years. I bought it with 127K on it. |
