Re: Is anyone dying to get an iPhone7? - Beam Me Up Scotty - 09-06-2016 I'm an Android user so no, any iPhone is not worth the price of admission. I'm not a Android fanatic (it's hardly perfect) but it does what I need it to do (for me it's the apps that matter, not the OS) at about half the cost of an iPhone. I purchase what I need at Swappa and have no problems owning "trailing edge" technology. I figure if I drop, break or lose it I won't cry in my coffee. Perhaps if I wanted a Apple Watch my story would change but I just consider one of these as an expensive bluetooth accessory for an iPhone. Edit: I guess I view phones as disposable items and view the purchase of one as that of any appliance item and not a fashion statement. Just something you need and nothing to get too thrilled about where needing the "latest & greatest" matters. D & C Re: Is anyone dying to get an iPhone7? - OWC Jamie - 09-06-2016 Just got a 6S beginning of the year. I would have been content with a 5SE if they had been available at the time. I really only wanted a used 5S and there were quite a few nice ones on this board's for sale page at the time. But you move on. I'll likely be squeezing as much life out of this 6S as I can. So no 6SE or 7 for me. Re: Is anyone dying to get an iPhone7? - pRICE cUBE - 09-07-2016 My main reason for an iPhone other that calling and texting is the camera. WHen the price comes down I will get an iPhone 7 but if I am spending over $500 for photo, it is going to be and SLR or lens related. So doubt I'll feel any inclination to upgrade for at least a year. Re: Is anyone dying to get an iPhone7? - lost in space - 09-07-2016 I'm happy as a clam after upgrading from my 4 to a free 5. I'm so cheap I squeak. Re: Is anyone dying to get an iPhone7? - sekker - 09-07-2016 My worst fear is that Apple goes with a new, proprietary wireless protocol and dumps the headphone jack. But then stops supporting Bluetooth to show how much better Apple Freedom Frequency is. This would mean poorer Bluetooth support for ALL iPhones in future software updates. They've done it before with other I/O protocols. This would be a form of planned obsolescence since many users use Bluetooth. |
