Generally, they look the same, but are different construction.HD and Lowe's can order the good stuff, but it's more expensive.

I'm pretty sure we bought a sink with 4" spacing, should have been certain about that from the start.

Sorry. I meant "equivalent" in style and features and, I think, model number. From what I recall, I decided that a better part here and there was not worth paying close to double the price for me.

Do price comparison between Home Depot and Lowe’s for example. Modem sent me a free replacement under warranty, listed at $400 on their web site, and exact same model sold for around $400 at one store and $150 at the other. I thought the lower cost must be plastic but I checked the weight of the box and UPC codes and both were identical to my box directly from Moen.

I've never heard of ceramic disc valves.
Changing a washer is easy, but not having to is much better.
Great tip on replacing supply valves with ball valves.
I replaced typical POC shower arm valve with a 1/2" ball valve and am very happy.
Using them for supply bathroom valves is brilliant.
