Here in NC, I've noticed that even AFTER the snowing has started, our forecasters cannot predict with any certainty what the totals might bes. Forget the days leading up to the event. We might get a foot. Or we might get nothing.

Ice on the other hand, they seem to be able to predict with 100% accuracy. Which is what is planned for tonight and tomorrow. Fun fun.

50oF / 10oC here in NOLA. But... and this is a big one... we're supposed to be getting storms tonight, that will likely produce freezing rain and possible tornados (!). Ugh!

Coastal weather patterns are always more difficult to predict than are inland patterns.

The good news is I think we're done with below-zero for a while.

The bad news is my sump pump outflow pipe froze and we won't get above freezing for a while. I'm off to find some heat tape.
