been good with Enpass.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but...

Doesn't non-subscription, pre-version-7, 1Password sync directly between Mac OS and iOS devices (no internet connection needed), while Enpass needs something Cloud-based, like DropBox, to sync between devices?
I'm pretty sure 1P needed access to something like dropbox to sync between devices. I'm not sure how you would sync at all w/o some type of "cloud" access. In my case, I upgraded b/c syncing is very important. As is making sure my family uses it consistently across the board.
I’m certain that’s not correct. My 1Password 6 syncs devices using only my WLAN; nothing Dropbox-like needed.

Now that does mean my devices must be on the same WLAN, but that’s never been a problem.

Both scenarios are correct.

EDIT: In response to a DM from one of the more pedantic members of the forum, I am modifying my response to indicate that both scenarios are viable - 1Password can sync either across a LAN/WLAN or through the cloud.

Hi everyone,

Been happy with 1Password6 and won't be updating to 1Password7. Syncing is fine. Just for giggles, I did try the link for upgrading to stand-alone 1Password7 and it no longer works. Too bad. I'd've bought it just to have a copy on hand in the event I needed it.

Those who have said the reason the subscription model has proven so successful is due to the difficulty in buying the standalone version are spot-on. To only mention the stand-alone as an aside in a single sentence _after_ downloading 1Password7 and choosing Buy 1Password is the reason people subscribed rather than buy it.

Maybe enough uproar will make Agile Bits reconsider this decision.

I'm sticking with 1Password6 but will backup its data in an accessible but encrypted format in case I need to jump ship. Such a shame.

Curious... For those of you using 6. What app are you running on your phones? Just the regular 1Password for iPhone?

Jonny,

Yups. Doesn't seem to care what flavor of 1Password I have on my computers. The vault is encrypted. Syncing with Dropbox.

Huh... I'll have to resurrect my dropbox account and try it out.

I’m using 1Password iOS app 7.7.1, and do NOT use DropBox (or anything similar.) I just sync over WLAN (as I mentioned above.)

Deaus,

Driopbox isn't an issue since the only one who can access the vault is me.

I keep my user names/passwords on my phone in the Notes app. I back up my phone to my laptop using iTunes.

Just saying it's not "needed".
