Mr. 645 should really be afraid of his economic masters - the ones who took his money to build walls and hire thousands of Border Patrol agents attempting to "look like they did something" while leaving him with nothing but a horrendous tax bill for the next 100 years and that flood of immigrants.

Look around, the immigration we see - all over the world - is being driven by economics. Why?

When the USA is finally driven into deep depression, where will Mr. 645 emigrate? ¿México?

Obama had it under control.

Well, at least we can admit that a Democrat had an effective immigration policy. Baby steps!

I didn't really have a major issue with Obama. I may not have agreed with all of his policies but he worked hard to be as effective as possible. Obama was intelligent, had a plan and worked hard to achieve goals. n fact Obama was the first african American that was well spoken, according to Joe.

However ZJoe Biden is a useless, geriatric puppet and is a clueless buffoon causing great damage and accomplishing nothing.

Probably stay in the USA somewhere but there is a strong case for Americans to retire to Cost Rica, Ecuador, and even parts of Mexico

This country desperately needs fewer guns, and more workers willing to do the tough low-paying jobs. Right now, this role is often filled by employers under-the-table using “illegal” migrant workers. If we were to successfully eliminate all such workers, some of our industries would likely collapse (including agriculture, meatpacking, and construction).

Unfortunately, one party has thoroughly demonized immigration and opposes any legitimate (and desperately needed) reform. So the alternate, “illegal” method thrives.

We have a system of legal immigration and the USA accepts more immigrants each year than any other country.

Well, we’re a big country, both population-wise and geography-wise.

Here’s some data:

We desperately need immigrants, unless we want to become a shrinking country, and soon.

Not saying we don't have room, but we need to vet incoming residents to keep out criminals. We should know who is coming in, make sure they pay taxes, follow our laws, don't shoot their neighbors

On that we can agree.

(Which is really what most of these immigrants do these days. Cross the river, stand in line, claim asylum, get processed.)

When common ground is found, I feel this forum is doing its part.

Immigration reform USED to have bi-partisan support. I sure hope we can get there some day.

We need to get more of the people who do background checks on asylum seekers and more of the people qualified to adjudicate their claims so they can be properly processed in or out more quickly.
