So just to be clear, Apple is not killing Notes?

Nope. Title is baseless and should be changed immediately. People responded in anger and disappointment.
Hmm. Someone should tell CNET then as that is exactly where the words came from.

HERE

Also, say goodbye to relying on Notes to jot down your thoughts -- Journal is a new secure app for personal recollections. Apple is pitching it as a gratitude exercise, but iOS will auto-include activities like songs and workouts you've done to your personal log.

In Contacts, one has to click Edit to make changes.

I'd like a note app that has that option.

What are broccoli heads?

All the cool kids with the non-boomer hair, no buzz cut or ring around the head chrome dome, I'm guessing.

Not sure about you but I have a full head of hair. Might not be the same color it once was but I don't care what color it turns as long as it don't turn loose.

So guess again.

I also use Notes daily to get WORK done.

You may want to reread it yourself. It says "say goodbye to relying on Notes to jot down your thoughts -- Journal is a new secure app for personal recollections."

My Cupertino mental image of the broccoli heads walking down the sidewalk to coffee--in a group--everyone looking at the phones tells me who thinks this is a good idea.

Notes is still alive and kicking in Sonoma, according to a developer friend of mine.

Yes. Let's re-read that. It's not going to be to jot down your thoughts any longer. It's going to be for personal recollections.
