And for those who do, what do you like best?? - Carthaigh - 12-31-2007 Best things about Leopard: - iCal icon in dock changes to reflect today's date - Unread messages count on Mail icon in the dock can be set to show total for all mailboxes Worst things about Leopard: - Rosetta is slow (intel machines) - Most new features are worthless to me (Time Masheen, Quickview, Coverflow in Finder, etc.) Re: So, for those who don't like Leopard, why not? Does it change to the current date even if it hasn't been opened? 3P Re: So, for those who don't like Leopard, why not? This was apparently caused by an old APE...Leopard hung loading the finder. That turned out to be a problem with divx software...in the end, I think it reflects poorly on Apple In the end, it reflects poorly on DivX and Unsanity. They make garbage. It also shows that you haven't been paying attention--the products of both companies have long been known to cause performance, stability, and compatibility problems. Re: So, for those who don't like Leopard, why not? And for those who do, what do you like best?? - Article Accelerator - 12-31-2007 Leopard is faster, has great key features (e.g. Time Machine, Boot Camp, Spaces, Quick Look, screen sharing and powerful new iChat features), and contains important internal changes that provide faster, easier, and more powerful application development. The latter means that you'll increasingly see Leopard-only applications. Go update. Re: So, for those who don't like Leopard, why not? So Leopard's effect on hinges and screws is... what? It had nothing to do with Leopard. It just gave me the enjoyment of installing Leopard on another machine. Re: So, for those who don't like Leopard, why not? And for those who do, what do you like best?? - RAMd®d - 12-31-2007 Some people have a really shallow view of the new cat, and it may indeed not be worth the time and money for them to update. For those not in a hurry, I predict... (remember him?) that The Mac OS X Leopard Book by Andy Ihnatko will reveal more things in Leopard than are dreamt of in forum gurus' audacity. Coverflow in other in the Finder is a lot more useful than I had hoped. I'm using it more and more. Now to get around to taking all my Macs in to the Leopard universe. And for those who do, what do you like best?? - olnacl - 12-31-2007 QS and PB upgrades went flawlessly I had the admin changed to standard user when I upgraded my Mac Pro Install didn't work at all on my MDD - I finally CCC'd a copy off my QS. Migration was a problem on my MacBook as well as on the MDD. Worked on the 2nd and 3rd try. Printers were a problem initially but seem to have somehow fixed themselves. 10.5.1 seemed to smooth out some bumps. The MacBook keeps forgetting the airport connection after sleep and, of course, I have to keep a Tiger drive for PS7 Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play? |
