i enjoyed visiting the JFK presidential library in Boston. i hear Clinton's library has some interesting interactive displays. i was near Little Rock the weekend it opened but didn't have time for a tour. other than that, i can't imagine any other presidential library i'd feel inclined to visit.

Abraham Lincoln's handwritten copy of the Gettysburg Address is on display at the Smithsonian Museum of American History through the end of the year. It is a copy he made for inclusion in a book. I would like to go down and see that.

I enjoyed the Reagan Library. I'd like to go back now that they have his Airforce 1 on display. I've also visited the Truman and Eisenhower libraries and enjoyed them as well. History is history no matter which side of the fence you sit on.

Several years ago that original was included as part of a traveling exhibit we had an opportunity to visit at the Huntington Library in San Marino, CA. His side notes were revealing.

I was most in awe of the campaign literature that preceded Lincoln's first election. They made Swiftboating seem civil.

edit: mandatory in a Gutty thread.
