I don't get this logic at all, swampy. No government money involved in union business. I doubt you will reply to this. I don't know why ask. I guess it is an exercise in futility on my part. (and a year ago this Toyota dealer never had more than three of either on the lot at all) Toyotas are 'popular' here because the scumbag Honda dealership was sold to the even more scumbag Nissan dealership owner. The reason I was given was the news of the Prius II and cheaper version of the Prius I due this Summer cutting into sales along with the 30 / 50 % cut back in sales. It's now the Yaris they can't keep on the lot. Re: What does Obama want GM to do? - Filliam H. We are getting closer to where no one will have to think or do anything because BHO and his cronies will have it all planned and tell us when and where. It will make life so much easier when we all dress alike, think alike, have the same salary and don't have to worry about be an individual anymore. Hurrah! I'm feeling more light hearted by the minute. He truely IS the Messiah! Glory be to BHO ! ! ! Re: What does Obama want GM to do? - OWC Jamie - 03-30-2009 Filliam H. (not everyone gets to drive down hill all day) Re: What does Obama want GM to do? - Silencio - 03-30-2009 Darrell Issa likes Obama's plan. Talk about strange bedfellows... http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090330/ts_nm/us_autos_reaction_1 Who cares whether Wagonner jumped or was pushed? His tenure was a colossal failure by any measure, and it's not like other auto executives aren't losing their jobs without government help (see also the presidents of Toyota and Peugeot/Citroen). The unions have made many concessions and will need to make more. GM's new CEO has a better chance of getting that done. Left to their own devices to go bankrupt, GM and Chrysler would shed a minimum of 1 million jobs, not including job losses from affected suppliers and subcontractors. Whichever politician lets that happen on his/her watch is going to lose the Rust Belt for their party for generations, just like the Democrats lost the South in the 1960s.
