Ana Lucia is a fictional character on a television show, or don't you get that?
FWIW, Ana Lucia really got on my nerves, too. She had a very abrasive, never a nice word about anything, attitude that got old very quickly. Some of the other characters have unique/quirky/pissy personalities, but they work through it or have other redeeming/interesting qualities. Ana Lucia, on the other hand, was a one trick pony with nothing but a bad attitude.

But that was exactly the point. Her back-story showed how she'd suffered in the past from her bad attitude and her hot-headedness.
I thought it begged the interesting question of whether she could change and grow, or was just stuck.
It's not like we ever had to watch an entire season of Anna Lucia.

The third year drifted a bit but the past season showed that they (mostly) knew where they were going with it the whole time.

The title of the show works on several levels. The first season and much of the second showed how everyone who came to the island was "lost" in some way.

Oh I understood why she was the way she was and I think she was integral to the story line and all, but I was not sorry when I did not have to listen to her anymore.
