Re: Daylight Savings Time - $tevie - 10-27-2009 I love daylight saving time and wish it would never end. There is NOTHING more depressing than leaving work in total darkness. I don't feel safe, either. Re: Daylight Savings Time - bazookaman - 10-27-2009 why do we still do it again? Obviously someone somewhere with some power thinks we still need to...no matter how stupid it is. Re: Daylight Savings Time - Zoidberg - 10-27-2009 If my first post didn't seem clear, I'm in favor of DST as well. Re: Daylight Savings Time - jdc - 10-27-2009 and this is the 10th year in a row that i will say its just backwards instead of 9 pm summer sunsets, if it was "spring back" then we would have 7pm summer sunsets instead of 5 pm winter sunsets, if it was "fall forward" then we would have 7 pm winter sunsets all the same, all year round Re: Daylight Savings Time - freeradical - 10-27-2009 jdc wrote: Just move to Quito. Who CARES about 8pm or 10 pm and its relation to dusk or night? Just have one time, period. And set your schedule as you need it. No time zones. No adjusting for someone else's timezone. Just one absolute time. Re: Daylight Savings Time - jdc - 10-27-2009 here you go AAA, 1:50 in... =) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtInaXXzqlA Re: Daylight Savings Time - Zoidberg - 10-27-2009 Well, there's always this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swatch_Internet_Time Re: Daylight Savings Time - Sam3 - 10-28-2009 I would like to see Daylight Savings Time go away. It's an experiment whose time has passed. I'm more concerned about the safety of kids. Right now, my daughter has to wait for the school bus in darkness. Next week she'll have some light at least, and drivers will be able to see the kids better. I never bought the "DST saves energy" story, and it looks like lafinfil's experience confirms that. Re: Daylight Savings Time - ka jowct - 10-28-2009 I love daylight saving time and wish it would never end. There is NOTHING more depressing than leaving work in total darkness. I don't feel safe, either. Yes, there IS something more depressing: getting up in total darkness. I never adjust to it. Getting up is far more painful to me when it's pitch dark. My body clock knows the difference, and it does not want to get up at 5:30 just because some idiots have decreed, for no good reason, that it's 6:30. I'll take the evening darkness anytime. I just went through about a month of getting up in the dark, and would like to slap the snot out of everyone who allows this nonsense to continue. Take a walk at lunch if you want some meaningful daylight. |
