Dakota in his rush to make this a personal embarrassment for President Obama runs right over the military that
he claims to have so much respect for. Perhaps it's just his "friends" (as he has referred to them) in the
military contracting business that he respects so much.

He has inadvertently remade the point that many have already made - why didn't this guy set off red flags ?
I'm sure that this was Dakotas real concern - I know it is mine (or he was just being a putz - you make the call)

It's not just this case either. There have been a number of other murders connected to soldiers recently returned
from active duty in Iraq and Afghanistan - Ft. Carson three anyone ? (11 murders) http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/30794989/the_fort_carson_murder_spree/1
or the all time record holder, army vet Tim McVeigh and everything in between

I have a number of young relatives in theater right now and another deploying in Feb and it is a concern
that the mental health of the troops has been largely under served or just plain ignored .

So perhaps Obama as Commander in Chief is responsible, as Bush was before. Hopefully Obama will not ignore
the problems concerning the mental healthcare of veterans - like Bush did.

"The Army psychiatrist accused of the Fort Hood massacre reached out to communicate with a radical imam overseas who in the past came under scrutiny for possible links to terror groups, a U.S. official said Monday.

Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan sent electronic communications to the imam, Anwar al Awlaki, according to this official, who was not authorized to discuss the investigation and spoke on condition of anonymity. Awlaki, who was released from a jail in Yemen last year, writes a blog which, among other things, denounces U.S. policies as anti-Muslim.

Hasan's messages were picked up by U.S. counterterrorism officials, but an inquiry into the matter was shelved because the contacts were not deemed to suggest a threat, this official said. Investigators are now trying to determine whether Hasan has any links to terror groups."

We don' need a bipartisan commission. We know what all you need to know NOW. The only person who didn't know of his inklings must have been the corner butcher shop. The military has a lot of explaining to do, especially Casey who comes out and the first thing he worries about is backlash. Wasn't he the one who almost lost Iraq until Bush correctly demoted him to some desk job?

That is all I am saying. I am not saying Obama should have known which mosque Hasan used to frequent. I am not saying 13=3000 either. But it is his problem. He should get ahead of this and appoint a special commission to find out why all these warnings signs were ignored. Authorities knew a lot about him but did not act. Why?

From the above NY Times link, the FBI knew about and investigated this last year

That would be 2008 during the Bush administration .... not that I would throw that in anyones face.

You're right - Perhaps Mr. Obama should appoint a special commission as you have suggested, to find out why Bush ignored these signs

Now your offended? By what?

By you trivializing and exploiting the deaths of thousands of people for a lark.

I try to give you the benefit of a doubt, but here you demonstrate beyond a doubt that you are nothing more than a lowlife here to troll.
I agree. This freaking thread should get you banned for a year. Totally sick and tasteless.

well, it is a free country, and freedom of speech is guaranteed by the constitution. But it is obvious that someone's parents did a rather poor job of raising a child to show compassion, decorum, and a sense of propriety. I just pray this behavior doesn't/hasn't been passed on to another generation.

Critical thought is one thing, but this is just a chimp throwing poo because the chimp doesn't have the intellect to know any better.

I can only guess this thread title came across from the Dittoheads this morning. Today's meme.
