I don't like the unthoughtful posts from liberals who contribute to this forum. I do like having thoughtful conservatives contributing to this forum. Unfortunately there just aren't very many of them - especially if we don't count people like cbelt3 and kj as "true" conservatives (as certain unnamed people seem to prefer to do).

Independents like me, who may fall on one side of some issues and the other side of other issues are hard for some around here to "get".

Other than abortion, which one of those puts you on the opposite side from conservatives? Lots of right-wingers supported Obama killing bin Laden and al-Awlaki. Plenty of social conservatives think that Ron Paul is preposterously hands-off when it comes to moral issues. And Rush wouldn't begrudge the OWS folks their right to protest - he just mocks them for it.

You really think that conservatives in general disagree with the last three? The second one doesn't rate as substantial to my way of thinking - besides, a significant percent of conservatives probably agree with that assessment of Ron Paul. So abortion, that's one.
Edit: Oops, I should have read rjmac's post before writing this one. I should have just said, "Ditto what rj said."
