Not sure if it's $20 or $29. Re: iPhone5 Is Worst Of The Top Smartphones: Consumer Reports - (vikm) - 01-11-2013 davester wrote: Pretty much spot on about CR and M$ (including the use of M$). I only use it when I travel internationally as my company won't reimburse international use on my iPhone. So, they pay $55+/month/year so that I have a device for the 3 international trips I do a year. Not really worried about the device as we get new ones each year, so I've got a few months to go. As for updates, I check regularly thru the phone and online thru Tmobile and Samsung. If it was my own device, I'd download 4.x that has been modded to run on my device. But, it points out how Apple did it right by controlling the experience. Re: iPhone5 Is Worst Of The Top Smartphones: Consumer Reports - JPK - 01-11-2013 I came out of a 3GS. I like my 5. It was not life changing as promoted, but it is nice. My iPad 4 is similar. Not an earth shattering upgrade from my iPad 1, as was pitched, but a nice upgrade. Yeah, wouldn't a bit of intelligent debate go a lot further? Thanks for the heads up on Snow Leopard still being sold, I have a client still on 10.5. *Here's a post describing the type of experience some people received after calling Apple: " It is a well-kept secret, apparently even from Apple employees. Be prepared for explaining. I went through 7 Apple representatives, during 4 phone calls before getting someone who knew what was going on and could handle this order correctly. Also, be prepared to wait. I received an order confirmation immediately, but it took a day to receive the email with the download information." Having read more than a few accounts of Apple telling people they could not upgrade to Lion after Mountain Lion shipped, I was a bit concerned. Good to know you just have to be persistent. Here's the link for how to upgrade to Lion. Re: iPhone5 Is Worst Of The Top Smartphones: Consumer Reports - sekker - 01-12-2013 Apple ending the sale of Lion when SL shipped was perhaps the most ridiculous thing Apple has done in a long while. They were consistent with iWork, too - in the end, I had to buy a DVD installer for my sister who was running 10.6 but couldn't download Pages from the Mac App Store. Once she installed from the DVD, she could upgrade to the same software from the store. Sorry, Mr Cook - some of us don't have the cash to update our machines every couple years.
