Re: How much is the full retail for the 6 & 6 Plus? - Bimwad - 09-10-2014 The only one the Apple Store Fixed. Apple is geared toward selling phones via the traditional contractually subsidized sales model. But that doesn't mean they don't sell unsubsidized, unlocked handsets. They just don't really publicize that fact. Customers need to know what to ask for ("device only"), and not expect much in the way of support in situations that deviate from the typical ways. The iPad has always been cheaper than the flagship iPhone. The bump to the mobile data model is usually $129, not $50. I don't disagree that the bump costs that much, but I was speaking to the cost of the part. I do disagree on the difference in class—both iPhone and iPad are tablets. The point of my whole post was to show that the price discrepancy between the size of the tablet and the cost of components doesn't correlate. Apple just has bigger margins on the phone. However I still contend the iPad is viewed as a different class of device and tablets have trended lower in price than phones. Given the performance, given the battery life, given the screen size. If you compare phone prices, the bigger phones tend to cost more than smaller phones with otherwise similar specs. |
