But seriously, what would you expect? She is the head of only one of our three branches of government, and there's only so much she can do in that position. She has done / is doing what she can; which is more than I can say for a lot of people in government right now.

You do realize that this is largely in the hands of the Senate dems, right?

Chuck Schumer. The guy who led the charge... to approve over 200 Drumpf appointees without any serious vetting.

Pelosi is not the person we should be pissed at for lack of action at the moment.

Schumer has been quoted as saying that if they push a nominee through, "nothing is off the table." ... and I don't think it's just in the hands of the Senate Dems, it's more like it's in the hands of the Senate Repubs, some of whom might, just maybe might, have a spine...

Schumer is essentially powerless against McConnell and has been since the GOP took over the Senate, why would anyone expect that dynamic to change in an election season?

How about contesting RBG's death certificate, tie it up in court for as long as possible. 45 would do something like that, delay via losing court battles. Make a court eventually rule that there's an actual opening on the SC to be filled. If birth certificates are fair game ...

It might get interesting if they subpoena RBG to testify.

There's overt force, and then there's power. There's a difference. My guess is that Pelosi and Schumer will be working behind the scenes to quietly chip away at the GOP support for a nominee.

There are guesses and there are wishes; my guess is that your guess is really more a wish.

Maybe; we'll see, but as I said ... even if a pick is rammed down all of our throats, there'll be consequences.

The entire point of the election is to "give" our representatives "power" so that we can remedy the issues of our times.

I thought the point of elections was to choose representatives of the collective interests of the local majority, whatever they may be.

We do that every election. Mission fulfilled every single time. No office goes vacant. If they're not in a position to enact necessary legislation, then not much will get done. The keyword will always be "power."
