I’ll happily concede that you may purchase and own any firearm that was being manufactured and sold when the second amendment was ratified.

So machine guns are OK? They were invented in 1778 and fired 100 rounds per minute.

Would the same rule apply to the first amendment? And voting techniques?

We license drivers. We should license the ability to own or carry a gun. To me a “well regulated militia” means some sort of training and record keeping if you want to own weapons of mass destruction. My state of Indiana just passed a law that allows citizens to legally carry guns with no permits necessary. This was passed by our Republican super majority against the advice of law enforcement. In so doing we are becoming more violent than the old west.

Most states do not require a permit to carry a gun, but all require a background check to purchase one. Most have a wait period unless the buyer has a carry/pistol permit.

False equivalence – describing two or more statements as virtually equal when they are not.

Technically the first, then in the late 1700's Gating invented his gun and various other fully automatic guns were invented.

As far as comparing the 1st and 2nd amendments, both are the basis for our Constitution, both are in the bill of rights, don't see your point

I didn't include the gatling gun as while it does fire at a very fast rate, today it does not qualify as an assault weapon or fully automatic gun because it requires the shooter to turn the crank for each bullet. They are as legal as revolvers or hand guns today.

Dude. Come on.

"The Puckle gun (also known as the defence gun) was a primitive crew-served, manually-operated flintlock[1] revolver patented in 1718 by James Puckle (1667–1724), a British inventor, lawyer and writer. It was one of the earliest weapons to be referred to as a "machine gun", being called such in a 1722 shipping manifest,[2] though its operation does not match the modern use of the term. It was never used during any combat operation or war.[3][4] Production was highly limited and may have been as few as two guns."

Far too many of those guns sold in Indiana end up killing people in Chicago, Detroit, Louisville, Nashville and St Louis...

Residents of Illnois can't buy a handgun in Indiana. To buy a handgun in Indiana, you must have an Indiana ID, such as a drivers license.

No telegraph in 1791. You'll need to wait for the guy on a horse. He'll have my letter.
