What year was that, exactly?
Around 2009 or so. I had probably 20 clients who had been homeless. They were a hopeless mess. My work instructions were if they physically touched me (they always did) to kick them out of my car immediately. Horrible people. If you were in the same room with one, you wouldn't last 5 minutes before you called the cops.
Were all of them this way? Absolutely not! But many, many of them were, hence the "there is some truth to what he's saying".
Now? Most of the homeless were not homeless most of their lives, and have only recently become so. Not the same situation at all.
Even now, I live close to some of the parks where homeless people tend to live. They are not super dangerous, _mostly_ (women have been raped, killed) but there are needles etc. everywhere. If they could just be bothered to walk a few feet to the trash cans that are everywhere...

Lip service. I think "looking into it" was as far as it went. Plus, he just watched N Korea develop ways to threaten other countries. I think Obama really avoided anything too substantial due to the risk.
