Perhaps you have no idea how this makes you sound. Many others have said that Obama isn't making public statements in the media because it's not appropriate. I've said that, if you want to know his current thoughts, he has a blog.
That's not facetious at all. I subscribe to blogs from experts on design, a Pulitzer-prize winning movie critic, and a president-elect. This is where people make their thoughts, and sometimes their actions, known.
It seems that me that if you were interested in actually knowing:
A: Why Obama isn't doing public appearances, or
B: What he's actually doing/thinking these days
...then those answers would have helped you. Your questions answered, your curiosity fulfilled.

To the larger point - where has Bush been during this entire mess ?
Have the limited statements that he has made reassured you, and if so how & why ?
This country is in a crisis and it would be nice if he showed some leadership.

I would feel reassured if the Pres-elect came out and said NO NEW TAXES and not RAISING TAXES more than anything the Bush could say at this moment.

I have to add to the pile-on. Since when is the President-elect supposed to be our "leader"?
I guess this must be a formal announcement that W truly does suck and that everyone, even the neocons, wants Obama to be President as of right now.

Um. The task of filling approximately 16,000 jobs and building the infrastructure for the largest government transition in history might have him a *tad* busy, don't ya think?
