Re: The writing is on the wall... - Gutenberg - 05-07-2013 If neither side is shutting down, then why are people still bitching? Seriously, there is no reason to be ungracious about this. OWC has provided these forums free of charge for eight years, and I am sure some of the comments here and on the other side make Larry grind his molars. I think we need to remember that we are at a friend's house, and behave accordingly. It's up to them to implement whatever rules they desire. It is also the choice of the participants to continue on or go elsewhere. The greatest irony in all of this hoopla about the political forum going away was Black's insistence that there were a bunch of whiny tattletales running to the moderators for any and every perceived slight - and that there was some sort of right-wing conspiracy to get rid of the political side. The ironic part of it all is that I get a message from a MRF Moderator informing me that one of my posts was edited because I had used Black's real first name in the post (a name that has been recognized and answered in other threads). So, it turns out that the person whipping up the conspiracy theory and admonitions about tattletales (and insinuated that I whined to the moderators myself) is the one who runs to the moderators himself... Ironic. Re: The writing is on the wall... - Gutenberg - 05-08-2013 Oh, stop. Drop it, Mac. Grow up already. Re: The writing is on the wall... - $tevie - 05-08-2013 I wouldn't assume that Black complained. The moderarion has changed and this could have been a well-intentioned error. Or someone else could have complained. Or maybe Black did complain but all they did was remove his name, right? No harm no foul. The moderator private messaged me that it was Black making the complaint. No error there and it wasn't "someone else" that complained. Quite ironic considering his protestations about complainants and some sort of "right-wing conspiracy" to shut down this forum. But let's look back on this... $tevie wrote:http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?1,1551110,page=4 Black wrote:http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?2,1551287,page=1 Black wrote:http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?1,1551110,page=4 Black wrote:http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?2,1551287,page=1 max wrote:http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?2,1551287,page=1 OWC Larry wrote:http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?1,1551110,page=1 OWC Larry wrote:http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?1,1551110,page=2 max wrote:http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?1,1551110,page=4 RgrF wrote:http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?1,1551110,page=3 haikuman wrote:http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?1,1551380 $tevie wrote:http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?1,1551380 max wrote:http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?1,1551110,page=4 $tevie wrote:http://forums.macresource.com/read.php?2,1551287,page=1 Re: The writing is on the wall... - August West - 05-09-2013 It appears that someone other than Black has the problem. Re: The writing is on the wall... - RgrF - 05-09-2013 It takes more than one poster to bring forth Squeaky Wheel Syndrome. Re: The writing is on the wall... - Black - 05-09-2013 Pete/Trouble/Mac-a-matic's behavior towards me crossed a line, using my real name as a taunt in threads that I wasn't even participatory in. When I see myself or others being treated in a harrassing manner, I absolutely report it. It's disappointing that the moderator chose to frame their communication in a way that was likely to fuel additional hostilities. I had already decided that I was no longer engaging the user behind this account, and hope to be able to continue not to. Would appreciate some "self-policing" here. |
