When folk bring up all of these kinds of arguments, their JOB is to obfuscate and delay, delay and delay. When delays do not work, they disrupt/divert the topics. When that fails, they deny.

The ATF actually registered a 14" piece of string as a machine gun. You can see the aluminum ser# tag on it, and the determination letter from the tech bureau. I find it difficult to take them seriously when they flip-flop regularly based on political whims, and not as a neutral regulatory agency.
